Scheduling Committee Update

Fellow FCMs,

We have a couple of issues to update you on.

First, we wanted to release one more round of the bidding information documents as well as the March WestJet pairings for your viewing prior to reporting to WestJet. We hope this helps make your transition into the new bidding system as smooth as possible.

In addition to the information provided by the Company in the FOAM-2025-009 - 2025 Integration Vacation Bid, there are a few items not included in the FOAM that you should understand before submitting your WestJet vacation bid. We have highlighted the key points below, but we encourage you to review the Vacation section of WestJet’s CA2 before submitting your bid.

A day of vacation counts as a day worked, reducing the maximum of 16 days worked for the month accordingly. For example, if the maximum is 16 days and you take 5 vacation days, your new maximum days worked would be 11 days.

If you bid three full blocks in a single month (15 days), you can request to have the 16th day dropped, allowing you to take the entire month off. In this case, your MMG (77.5 hours) will be reduced to the credit of your 15 vacation days. Each vacation day is worth 4.5 hours, so a full month off would reduce your MMG to 67.5 hours (15 days × 4.5 hours/day). We are also seeking confirmation that if you have any additional days beyond your blocks of 5 (e.g., 1-4 extra days), you can request to use one of these days for the 16th day off after the award, giving you the entire month off while maintaining your MMG. Alternatively, you can always work the 16th day to maintain your MMG.

At WestJet, you cannot be awarded more than three vacation blocks in one month. If Sunwing does not follow this WestJet CA2 rule during this transition bid and awards more than three weeks, we anticipate WestJet removing the extra blocks and assigning them to whatever vacation blocks are left over. Please bid accordingly!

Further Information from the Vacation section of WJA CA2

26-1.01. A biddable block of vacation/Statutory Holidays shall be five (5) consecutive Days and shall begin at 01:00 HBT on the first vacation/Statutory Holiday Day.

26-3.01. The Company observes eleven (11) Statutory Holidays defined as the following:

26-4.01. Unless otherwise noted in this Agreement, one (1) vacation Day/Statutory Holiday Day shall be credited at four-point five (4.5) Credit Hours.

26-5.08. Requests shall be submitted electronically, as determined by the Company, no later than bid closing of the earlier Monthly Scheduling Period in which the random Day Off was awarded or the Monthly Scheduling Period where the desired vacation/Statutory Holiday block is scheduled.

These GDOs shall be unpaid and have no Credit attached.

26-7.02. A Pilot shall request this option via electronic form submission no later than the first (1st) of the month prior to the Monthly Scheduling Period in which the Pilot has the three (3) full blocks.
