Welcome to the Air Line Pilots Association, Int'l (ALPA)! You join more than 79,000 pilots at now 42 Canadian and U.S. airlines as we work toward better working conditions, contracts, and careers. Together, we are advancing the airline pilot profession, and we are proud to welcome the Sunwing pilots to our union.

ALPA’s services, resources, and benefits are available to you immediately. Use your member number (SXXXX) to access ALPA’s many benefits. You can set up a password at mypassword.alpa.org.

ALPA Membership
While you automatically become an ALPA member if you were a Unifor member, we ask that you log in and review your member record with us to:
  • Add your mailing address and update any other contact information (phone, email, etc.) in our member database
  • Set up your communication preferences for information from ALPA and your pilot group
  • Complete our Direct Deposit Authorization Form for potential future offers to return dues
If you have questions, call ALPA’s Membership Administration Department at 1-888-FLY-ALPA (press 3 and 3 again) during regular business hours. Your login will give you access to www.alpa.org as well as the following:
  • ALPA Aeromedical
If you are concerned about a medical problem that may affect your certification or are already dealing with Transport Canada medical certification issues ALPA can assist. ALPA recently launched the new Canadian Aeromedical Support Program, customized for Canadian ALPA members. This initiative is an integral component of Pilot Assistance Canada, providing a comprehensive approach to member support. Visit pilotmd.ca for resources and support.

  • Insurance Products Designed for Canadian Pilots
ALPA offers several member insurance products and, as part of your dues, every Canadian ALPA member receives a $20,000 life insurance policy with an expedited claims procedure that will provide funds to your designated beneficiary upon your death. Learn more about the products, including what might fit best for you and your family, and take advantage of a special ALPA member insurance open enrollment period for Sunwing ALPA members.

  • The ALPA App
With your membership access, download the ALPA app for information about the union and several useful tools, including your membership card, a Canadian flight- and duty-time calculator, the ALPA Worldwide Accident/Serious Incident Hotline, and ALPA’s Flight Finder jumpseat search tool.
The app also includes access to ALPA’s Data Action Report program, or DART. DART is an ALPA communications platform and the primary method for you to send any question to your pilot group leaders and subject-matter experts. Fill out a simple form and your question will get automatically routed to the proper people for response. You can also access DART online (login required) at dart.alpa.org or learn more on the ALPA website, including step-by-step instructions.

Meet Your ALPA Representatives
Your former Unifor local representatives who you recently elected have been named as your Sunwing pilot representatives for greatest ease in transitioning your pilot representation to ALPA. These pilot volunteers will provide continuity of representation as they obviously know the issues and are invested in an equitable solution for all. ALPA also provides a full slate of aviation- and labour-focused staff in Canada and the United States to support the Sunwing Master Executive Council (MEC).

Under ALPA’s governance structure, the Sunwing MEC is distinct and independent of the WestJet MEC, and answerable to the Sunwing pilots.
